At its core, Face Value is a youth-centric initiative which is dedicated to making conversations surrounding beauty standards, body image, and self-esteem more accessible, supportive, and evidence-based for adolescent girls from underserved communities across New Delhi. Through its efforts, the project combines storytelling, peer support, and practical provisions to create safe spaces where young people can explore these topics without judgement.
To bring the same to life, we will develop a three-part illustrated children's book series exploring adolescent skin health, sun protection, and body confidence, facilitate interactive reading sessions accompanied, author an activity book examining beauty standards, establish a peer discussion groups centred around collaborative reflection, and organise a fundraising campaign supporting more awareness, as well as the development of wellbeing kits containing resources that reinforce the project's themes. Through these interconnected ideas, Face Value hopes to make space for more conversations, better self-confidence, and a continuing reminder that true confidence comes not from changing how you look, but from recognising your own, unique and inherent value.
